Established the first pathway.
The first cohort made CREXT visible as a coordinating structure and brought researchers, advisers, and college leadership into a shared scholarly space.

CREXT facilitates research processes, strengthens and helps execute research-based action plans, and prepares Capitolian scholarship for presentation, competition, publication, utilization, and extension.
CREXT began as a college-level coordinating structure for research and extension. Its second generation carries that foundation forward through coordinated research and extension work, capability-building, action-plan development, dissemination, and wider scholarly participation.
The first cohort made CREXT visible as a coordinating structure and brought researchers, advisers, and college leadership into a shared scholarly space.
The second generation brings student members, research advisers, both research coordinators, and the extension coordinator into one shared program of workshops, action-plan development, colloquium work, presentation, competition, publication, and community extension.
The continuing support of Dr. Fidela B. Ansale, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, gives CREXT the institutional encouragement needed to bring students, faculty, advisers, and partners together around meaningful research and extension work.
Her visible presence at the Research Colloquium affirms that scholarly inquiry is a College priority. This support helps sustain the spaces where research can be mentored, presented, recognized, translated into action plans, and carried forward into service and extension.
CREXT supports the movement of research from development to dissemination, utilization, and extension.
CREXT coordinates activities, supports researcher and adviser engagement, and creates working spaces where developing research can be discussed and refined.
CREXT strengthens research-based action plans, reviews their alignment with evidence and intended outcomes, and supports responsible execution and documentation.
Promising outputs are prepared for competitions, colloquia, poster and oral presentations, IMRAD development, publication opportunities, and other scholarly platforms.
CREXT connects students and advisers with two research coordinators, one extension coordinator, college leadership, and community partners so research and extension become continuing institutional activities.
More than an event banner, this visual marks a shared scholarly moment—when inquiry leaves the page, enters conversation, and becomes part of a larger culture of evidence, innovation, and compassionate care.
Framed in midnight blue and ceremonial gold, the teaser reflects the distinction and purpose of the gathering. It celebrates research not simply as a requirement, but as work meant to be seen, examined, shared, and carried forward into better health practice.
The second generation has already conducted a research workshop with the College’s three research advisers, supported by the College’s two research coordinators and one extension coordinator. The format emphasizes direct consultation, small-group critique, active manuscript work, and practical problem-solving rather than relying only on end-stage correction.

CREXT’s extension function includes helping research-based action plans become clearer, more feasible, and better aligned with the evidence that generated them. Quality assurance considers whether the proposed action is appropriate, whether responsibilities and intended outcomes are clear, and whether implementation can be documented responsibly.
This gives the college a practical bridge between research findings and appropriate forms of education, quality improvement, technical recommendation, extension activity, or further validation.

The second generation is still building its program of work. Both research coordinators and the extension coordinator will continue working with advisers, members, college leadership, and community partners on capability-building, research development, action-plan implementation, external presentations and competitions, publication-oriented work, and extension activities.
